چکیده
In analogy to the physical quantum mechanical concept of particle representation and its observables, some thought is given to the reality of elements within the product development process. Several aspects and requirements for a formalisation are sketched and examples of product design are discussed. The results show that the logical components and the elements in the product development process can be considered as mere images of product reality. The core of development is always the communication and interaction between designer and product representation and can be described by the product properties, depending on its representation as well as the view-point and the design intent.
